When people come ‘together’, miracles happen. Social mobilisation is now considered an essential part of every project. Without the active involvement of all stakeholders in the project, achievements of desired objectives both qualitatively and quantitatively generally end in fiasco.

Social mobilization process under IDEA calls for formation of Community Organisation (CO) and/or Village organisation (VO).. In order to strengthen the organizations formed at the grassroots, the project management strived to bring about training programmes that could help the C.Os for collateral Management . The IDEA therefore has been striving to build a network of Community Organizations so as to help organize the people in carrying out the development and livelihood activities not only related to IDEA but in case of other projects as well. IDEA’s social Cohesion and community development programs begin with understanding community needs and assets.IDEAs’ development programs are drawn from a broad range of human development possibilities, Basic health, water and sanitation, education, agriculture, livelihoods, small and medium-size enterprises, etc.

With the recent IDPs influx in military operations in NWA, population of the district Bannu has almost become doubled. The IDPs influx has put tremendous strain on the limited existing facilities in the hosting areas. Due to its highly vulnerable situation, IDEA has been focused on multi-sectoral humanitarian assistance to IDP and host communities mainly in Livelihood ,social cohesion and Protection
THE AIM OF THE INITIATIVE:
To improve the living conditions of people (TDPs and host communities, 40% women) in the areas of Bannu and Karak during the displacement period by promoting greater social cohesion, expanding/rehabilitating basic social service delivery and enhancing livelihoods opportunities in these areas particularly for women.
Infrastructure schemes were designed to benefit the communities through participatory approach involving both the communities Host & TDPs. A total number of 32 schemes were identified while 7 were approved and completed by the end of the project. The schemes were 2 solar drinking water supply schemes, 4 street pavements and 1 culvert were completed. These schemes benefited 33423 individuals. The major beneficiaries of the schemes were women.
IDEA constructed streets and align drains in major proportion of population in the village. Hence all the major streets of the community paved and drains in those streets are also aligned. The formation of 30 community organizations aims to resolve issues related to both host and displaced community during and after the project is completed. The TDPs and host communities were provided awareness on legal referral assistance through awareness sessions. A total number of 254 participants were given information of legal aid, documents, legal rights its importance and doable solutions for pertaining legal issues, which they might be facing due to lack of awareness.
IDEA covered 60 Health and hygiene session in which 32 were for men while 28 were women.
Under the instant project, A total number of 10 special days were celebrated at the community level. More than 500 community members were part of the event. In total 8 training sessions on DRR, agriculture and NRM sector were delivered that benefited 200 individuals with ratio of 50% for men and women.
