ENSURING ACCESS OF GIRLS TO LITERACY AND EMPOWERMENT (EAGLE) IN DISTRICT TORGHAR
With support from USAID Small Grants and Ambassador’s Fund Program (SGAFP), Initiative for Development and Empowerment Axis (IDEA) has launched the eight (08) month project titled “Ensuring Access for Girls Literacy & Empowerment” in 07 UCs of two Tehsils (Judbah & Kandar Hassan Zai) of District Torghar, KP. The aims of this project is to provide adolescent girls in 07 UCs of District Torghar with access to education by:
|•||Conducting community sessions for enrolling 360 adolescent girls in regular government schools;|
|•||Facilitating government in upgrading 12 girls primary schools to middle level by providing missing items, rejuvenating Parent Teacher Councils (PTCs), and running an Accelerated Learning Program for 120 adolescent girls thereat; and|
|•||Fostering a reading culture in selected primary schools by setting up library corners, conducting talking story sessions, and compiling and publishing story books.|
USAID/Pakistan has, in cooperation with the USAID Office of Inspector General, established the Anti-Fraud Hotline to provide an avenue for the reporting of fraud, waste, and abuse which may be associated with USAID funded projects in Pakistan.
